Hey there! I’m Amy. I live in New York (state) with my husband, 2 boys, with another on the way and our dog. I’m a bit of a nerdy introvert who loves history, reading, and a good board game. My guilty pleasure is reading magazines while curled up on the couch. I love home decor and have a background in interior design. A beautiful space just makes me feel giddy inside. The ocean is my happy place. Putting my feet in the sand and listening to the waves crash feeds my soul. I need coffee in the morning. Even though I switched to decaf, I just have to have it to feel like I can start my day. I’m a bit obsessed with Aldi. I love it. Stick around for a little while and you’ll see!
I became a stay at home mom 5 years ago and after a while I realized that I had fallen into a rut, a “mom rut” if you will. I wanted to snap out of it and start living a richer life. For me, this meant I had to figure out how to stretch a dollar but that wasn’t the only thing. After a lot of daydreaming about what a rich life looked like for me, I found that it didn’t involve much money at all. While my vision did involve someday living in our dream home (I was daydreaming after all) and that indeed will cost some money the other things did not. Being happy? Free. Having endless amounts of energy to enjoy my family? Free. Living the healthiest lifestyle I could? Not always free but doesn’t have to cost a lot. Tackling my anxiety? Scary but free. Financial independence? Well, slow and steady wins the race on that one.
Maybe your vision of a rich life looks similar to mine and maybe it doesn’t. I’m here to share what I’ve tried, what has helped, what has worked, what I’ve failed at and to encourage you to find the path to your richest life. This is my blog. It’s scary for me to put myself out there but the only way to do it is to just jump in with both feet. I hope this can be a positive place of kindness and encouragement. Stick around and let’s chat about what we can do to enrich our lives. After all, we’ve only got one life to live. Let’s make it rich!
